About
We start with the business. The rest follows.
Every company runs on something. Usually it is a set of tools, habits and spreadsheets nobody sat down and designed. We start there — with how the work actually moves — and what gets built follows from what we find, quietly enough that nobody has to think about it.
Why we exist
A gap that shouldn't exist.
Large enterprises build systems around how they operate. Small companies buy whatever comes off the shelf. In between sits an enormous group of businesses — complicated operations, real revenue, growing faster than the setup underneath them — with nowhere sensible to go.
They're too complex for generic SaaS, so they fill the gaps with spreadsheets. They're told custom software costs millions and takes years — which we think was far more true when everything had to be started from nothing. So they keep growing on an operating model nobody designed, and the cost shows up as slow decisions, manual reporting and a quiet ceiling on how large they can get before things start breaking.
Iberium exists for that middle — and the work is deliberately not the work of a software agency. An agency takes a specification and builds it. We start a step earlier, with how the company actually operates, and the platform is what that understanding turns into.
Why we're different
Five disciplines that rarely sit in the same room.
Consultancies understand the business and hand over a document. Development shops build what they're told. The interesting work is in between, and it needs all five of these at once.
Business transformation
The engagement starts as a change to how a company operates, not as a software project. What gets built is the part of that change you can log into.
Operational understanding
Before anything is designed, we learn the actual mechanics: how work arrives, who touches it, where it waits, and which spreadsheet is quietly holding a department together.
Systems thinking
Fragmentation is rarely caused by any single tool. It comes from the connections nobody designed. We work on the architecture between the parts as deliberately as the parts themselves.
Custom platform development
We build production software, not prototypes or configuration. Our view is that building something specific to a business is far more achievable now than the received wisdom suggests.
AI-enabled intelligence
Once a platform holds the operating reality of a business, intelligence becomes genuinely useful on top of it — within the permissions the business defines.
What we believe
Four convictions.
Operations are a design problem
Most inefficiency in a growing company isn't laziness or bad tooling. It's an operating model that grew by accident, one subscription at a time. It can be designed deliberately — and software is how the design becomes real.
Understanding precedes building
The hardest part of this work has nothing to do with engineering. It's learning a business well enough to know which parts of its process are essential, which are habit, and which are scar tissue from a problem solved five years ago.
Restraint is a feature
Every module we talk a client out of is a module nobody has to maintain, learn or migrate later. The best version of a platform is the smallest one that removes the friction.
Software should be finished, then kept
We don't launch and leave. A platform is infrastructure for how a company works; it needs the same continuity as the business it serves.
The practice
Small on purpose.
The people who diagnose your business are the people who design and build the answer. There is no handover to a delivery team who weren't in the room, and no layer of account management between you and the work.
- Who we work with
- Growing companies whose operations have outgrown the systems they accumulated
- Where
- Working globally
- How the work starts
- With a diagnosis of how the business actually operates
- Ownership
- What we build for your business is yours
The best software should feel like it was always supposed to exist inside that organisation.
Working with us
What we commit to.
Not testimonials. The way we intend to work, stated plainly enough to be held to.
We ask uncomfortable questions early
Diagnosis is designed to surface the things leadership half-knew and hadn't said out loud.
We argue against scope
The shortest route to value usually involves building less than you expected.
We keep what earns its place
Systems that already work get connected in, not replaced for the sake of tidiness.
